The Secrets of Homemade Wine

A video report explores traditions related to winemaking in Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine. 22 August 2018

Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine are distinguished by a particular respect of wine. They have unique and ancient winemaking traditions. What does wine mean for these countries and what place does it occupy in their culture? Where can you buy homemade wine? How does the production process look like and who is its main consumer?

This video is part of a series of multimedia works that Transitions will publish in the coming months, the results of an Internews cross-border project called "Neighbors."

The project is implemented by the Independent Journalism Center (Moldova), Internews Ukraine, and Internews Georgia, in partnership with the Internews Network.
