PPU III: Egon Bondy's Happy Hearts Club Banned
by Plastic People of the Universe 1 January 2001
1973-75/2001
In September, 1974, the First Festival of the Second Culture took place in the village Postupice, disguised as a "wedding party" it was actually a meeting point for the Czech underground. Home studio sessions during the following autumn produced the oldest preserved studio recordings of the Plastics, and 10 of the songs were used on Egon Bondy's Happy Hearts Club Banned. The record was originally released by the French label Scopa in 1978. "Egon Bondy" is, without question, the classic Plastic People record.
